Close Call: Raiders Narrowly Miss Victory Against Huskies

In a thrilling match-up Tuesday night, the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) Raiders faced off against the Michigan Technological University Huskies at the HOCO Arena. Despite a valiant effort, the Raiders fell just short, with a final score of 2-3 in favor of the Huskies.

The Huskies dominated the ice with an impressive 44 shots, nearly doubling the Raiders’ 22 shots. However, this didn’t deter the Raiders’ resolve. Raiders’ goalie, Michael Poulik, put on a standout performance, making 41 saves against the Huskies’ relentless offense. On the other side of the ice, Huskies’ goalie Finn Kelly managed 20 saves.

Despite the Raiders’ powerplay opportunities, they couldn’t convert on any of their four chances. Similarly, the Huskies failed to capitalize on their two powerplay opportunities. The game was a testament to the strength of both teams’ penalty kill units.

Raiders’ Joseph Grobarek was a key player, assisting both of the team’s goals. Meanwhile, the Huskies’ Derek Wetzel managed to find the back of the net for a crucial goal.

Looking forward, the Raiders will be hitting the road to face the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Friday, October 16th at 7:30 pm CDT at the YMCA on 20th Ave. The team will undoubtedly be looking to bounce back from this narrow loss and secure a win in their upcoming game.
